Halloween at this part of the world....

Halloween is always fun... but all these past years I was so busy with my life that I couldnot do anything for my kidoz... including this year :(

But I really felt bad for my kido this time, he really wanted to dress up and celebrate the day So I promised him that next year I am going to do a Halloween party for him...

By the time I relaized how much he wanted to enjoy Halloween, it was too late so, I could only do this little door hanging for him... and then I took him to Dubai Mall, which was the only place in dubai who celebrated Halloween in such a huge way (correct me if I am wrong), as per my internet research.....

Dubai Mall water Fall
Dubai Mall is the WORLD's biggest Mall, and it is next to Burj Khalifa which is world's tallest building. It is amazingly beautiful and got tons of attractions.... We went too late so I could only manage to take pictures of these beautiful water fall angels...

Mohammad managed to wear all the possible accessories he had for police man, and wore army shirt....

I was asking him to look back for the picture, but he refused as escalators were ending :P

Halloween dress up

He was not only wearing all the accessories but also behaving like an angry cop.... lol

We saw this guy with excellent makeup at Hamleys....

I really loved his makeup..... really creepy.....

my excited son, in front of a scary sculpture.

There were so many interesting characters roaming around...

 This couple was really nice...

Oh God.... he was reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy awesome.

What so ever was going on...... my little one was just interested in eating his treats :)

Loved this web and ballon spiders...

These shoping bag ghosts were looking awesome and it was very nice quick idea for halloween decor...

We had real fun... ad loved all the decor and treats.
Hopefully next year this time i'll be uploading pictures of our Halloween party...

keep smiling.

Quick Quick, half an hour Haloween Wreath

Today we (me & my kids) made a Haloween wreath .... loved it as it was a quick quick thingy.

It took me 1.5 hour to finish it with my kids, but you can make it in less then half time..... the formula is...

1.5 (total time) - 1 (kids pangaz) = 0.5 (half an hour)

It was a simple thing, I didnt have wreath so I used piece of old wasted card board box, I love making things from wasted stuff....

Piece of cardboard box

Drew a circle

circle cut out

cut another small circle in the big one...

Folded newspaper and attached it with masking tape.

Cover it well with tape, mine was not done yet.

used burlap strips

covered the wreath well.

done, covering.

then I cut a yellow moon & a bat from felt and attached them on wreath.

Used a black ribbon to hang it on my door

that is how this little thing looked on our door...

It was a good quick haloween activity for me & my kids...

     cheers!

Mom's first photoshoot with Nikon D-90

I havent blogged for quite some time... as my dearest Kodak camera refused to work any more after a year of hardships.... (you cant imagine what my kids have been doing with it) So I bought Canon A2300.... I was really disappointed with the results, though it has nice reviews on many sites... this was my 3rd digital camera & I was so exhausted that I checked on internet and went to buy Nikon D90, which is the flag ship of Nikon and their best selling SLR.

I know NOTHING about photography..... went for D90 as majority sites had excellent reviews about it. And YES! it is... I am completely falling in love with it.

I got it day before yesterday, & yesterday I took all these pictures...

My little model.... with dad...

My Big One''s Photoshoot

Finally there is one descent picture

Skyline dubai, left corner it is Burj Khalifia, world's tallest building

Before buying SLR I was concerened about one thing... If a professional camera like Nikon D90 is ok for a beginner.......... I tried to check on every possible site but didnt get answer... but now I have the answer... YES! it is very user friendly, and good choice for a beginner. I am sure I hardly know even 5% about its ability, but I am learning and its wise to invest once in good stuff rather then 100 time in bad stuff (the way i did....swab swab...)

Be happy....

Tuesday Tutorial Treat # 5 - - - Birdie hair hanger

Today I wanted to make loom flowers but :( no success, need to make another loom, will upload a detailed post soon. After all my flop loom experiment I had very less time left and I wanted to make something for this week's T3. So finally I made this adorable little birdie hair clip hanger with felt.

It is easy and takes no time. its not something unique but I loved making it.Its my first felt project and I feel, you can go wild with felt.... i mean its such an amazing stuff that no matter what you do it will come out great :). It hides all the imperfections (suits me) and finished product comes out really kool.

Ok, so this time its sooo simple, I didnt even want to upload tutorial, but i did as it mayyyy help anyone.

I wanted to display this with some nice cute hair clips but.... I dont have any...
(no little girl = no cutie clips)
so i tried to display them with loom flowers (the same flop experiment i was talking about....)

And thats it.
have great day.
