All is well that ends well…

For a long time I wanted to make my kids name initials wall art… M & A to hang on wall

But I couldn’t find wooden alphabets as there is no craft or hobby shop where I live. So I planned to make it with cardboard….

MM

this is what I did…

1
I typed M & A in word with 900 size.

2
Cut 2 pieces of each alphabets.

4
1. I drew and cut alphabets on cardboard, 2 pieces each.
2. Pasted thick double sided tape on 1 piece.
3. Attached other Alphabet piece on top.
4. Taped well to make shape.

1st Disappointment
5
I wanted to cover it with wool but it was not strong enough and lost shape so I had to think of something else.

2nd Disappointment
6
So I covered it with blue color felt with the help of glue gun. I was still not happy with the result as It had a lot of imperfections….

7
by that time it was already 4:45am so Annoyed I slept with a heavy heart, I had spend so much time on this and the result was not what I was expecting.

M
Next morning when I woke up, hubs suggested me to cover it with wool or add something else, as it was too simple. I wrapped it with wool and it worked perfectly… I will be making the other A very soon.

Things to keep in mind
1. If you want to make it with wool, take a strong material as a base….

2. covering your alphabets with fabric could be a great and much easier option.

I am planning to make my next Alphabet A with card board but in another way… will be back soon.
have fun

Tuesday Tutorial Treat - 1 - Monster Hook

Here comes my first tuesday treat....

One more month left and my little one has already started missing his friends, teacher, school :( So I planned to do some fun crafting with him....

Today's project is MONSTER HOOK. We made this togther, to hang his school bag, badge, after coming back from school.

I started this.... almost a month back but I was not very sure about what I wanted, so it lingerd on (like most of my projects, hehehhe) until few days back when my little munchkin slept early, I had time to do some crafting with my elder one & had nothing in mind :) So that day I had no other option but completing it...

It took me two days to finish it. But after fnishing we loved it.

Material & Tutorial
1. wire hanger,
2. thin wire (one which is used in flower making)
3. Duct Tape
4. Colored Paper
5. Glue
6. Paints/colors/markers (anything to paint monster)
7. wool (for pom pomz)

First of all using some tools, I shaped wire hanger in required shape.

Then I wrapped this wire hanger with thin wire, and once the shape was done, just to make it further strong I thoroughly covered it with duct tape.

(Sorry about the missing pictures.... didnt took any pictues as I was hating it until next step)

Once hook was well in shape + strong enough, I covered it with blue color paper with decopage technique. (dipped paper in water for 1 min then applied it on hook, slightly pressd paper with hand. Once completed pasted with no air bubles, brushed 1/4 water+3/4glue mixture on it with brush)

For details, I used the same method in Recycling - Decopage Project.

Left it dry over night.... this is how it looked in the morning.

Back side.

Covered back side with duct tape, to seal loose ends.

Made these 2 wool pom pomz and attached them with thin wire. Pom pom tutorial you can find here

using big pieces of duct tape, then attached these wires to the back side.

Front view.

Using blue markerz and paints, painted this.

ta da..... done!

Hung it near enterence, according to my little one's height.

We enjoyed making it, specially my little one, he was toooooooooo excited through out the time ::)

have a great great day.

DIY - - - Wall Sticker

This time its about my living room wall....

Wall Sticker

we moved in this new appartment almost 8 months back. during these 8 months the walls paint started chipping and thanks to my son who is always waiting for a chance to write on walls.... so they were looking really horrible....

Before Wall Sticker

in this pic I have removed many of his drawingz but still its looking awful because of chipped paint :(

SO, i gave a quick treatment to my wall... I bought black laminating sheet from nearest book store and cut out this skyline of canada.... (its still bit dirty :( but its muchhhhhhhh better den before)

AFTER

The fun a kool part is that this sheet comes with scale on the back sheet so its very easy to draw and cut straight sky line from laminating sheet.

its fun, easy and takes not more then 1 hour.... enjoy :)
