Love Personalized Graphics

I have a long long long TO DO list... but not getting enough time to start working on it...

My mom in law is coming to visit us in a month and I am super excited, want to do some good changes in my home before her visit... though i am not sure ill be able to do this with my kids + having in mind that we are going to move to a new place in a couple of months..... still confused... well, lets see...

Now a days hubs is on vacations which simply means NO POSSIBILITY of any CRAFTING WORK... so ill start working on my list only after this weekend..

DISTRACTED AGAIN ....... AHHH :)

ok, so today when my kids were sleeping and I got some time to relax and was searching on internet for some graphic sites I came across Widley Tinks it is so kool, thought I should share it. I made this little family graphic using this site.

My Stick Family from WiddlyTinks.com

It is very simple to use, you just have to select the number of your family members, customize graphic, copy html code and paste in your blog... its that simple.

Tip : If you dont want all the links to appear under your grapphic you can always use a print screen option, like this

I also made this one...

These graphics can be used in any sort of any project and its a simple, easy & quick thing.

I will be using them soon... luv it.

All is well that ends well…

For a long time I wanted to make my kids name initials wall art… M & A to hang on wall

But I couldn’t find wooden alphabets as there is no craft or hobby shop where I live. So I planned to make it with cardboard….

MM

this is what I did…

1
I typed M & A in word with 900 size.

2
Cut 2 pieces of each alphabets.

4
1. I drew and cut alphabets on cardboard, 2 pieces each.
2. Pasted thick double sided tape on 1 piece.
3. Attached other Alphabet piece on top.
4. Taped well to make shape.

1st Disappointment
5
I wanted to cover it with wool but it was not strong enough and lost shape so I had to think of something else.

2nd Disappointment
6
So I covered it with blue color felt with the help of glue gun. I was still not happy with the result as It had a lot of imperfections….

7
by that time it was already 4:45am so Annoyed I slept with a heavy heart, I had spend so much time on this and the result was not what I was expecting.

M
Next morning when I woke up, hubs suggested me to cover it with wool or add something else, as it was too simple. I wrapped it with wool and it worked perfectly… I will be making the other A very soon.

Things to keep in mind
1. If you want to make it with wool, take a strong material as a base….

2. covering your alphabets with fabric could be a great and much easier option.

I am planning to make my next Alphabet A with card board but in another way… will be back soon.
have fun

So I googled and searched on Pinterest & Etsy and got many interesting ideas for boys and planned to make these super hero cuffs.

He loved it…. he was jumping through out the time I was stitching it, whenever I asked him to try the cuff on for size, I got it back after half an hour :)…. He is a hugeeeeee super hero fan…

Another Crochet Lover...

I Red heart crochet.... though I am just a beginner but all the tempting patterns available on internet make me learn more day by day...

The first time I made crochet booties in 7th grade… as our home economics project. But that’s it, never touched it again. 2 Months back after seeing some really nice crochet patterns on internet I bought all the material and started it again... though I remembered nothing.... but youtube helped me alot..... I learnt all the abbreviations, stitches, advanced stitches, everything from youtube.

I am very easily distracted...

Ok so coming back to the point, I made this really cute crochet bunny hat using this pattern from Girl in air. It came out nice... as per my first trail... BUT I couldn’t get the right pictures... my little one was so not ready to wear it…. Sick smile

After 1 hour of struggle this is what I got...

Earns of my cap were a little smaller than this one but otherwise it came out exactly the same…

How to - - - upload Blog spot background.

Few days back I was so bored with the old look of my blog that I planned to give it a new look…
I had two options,
1. Either to make my own background and upload it
2. Or to get a free blogger background available online.

And Obviously I took the Second easier option….. I selected background from an online free web page and installed it in my blogger.

These are few resources for really good blogger backgrounds. Some one them also have matching buttons available.

http://thatblogplace.com/store/Default.asp
http://aquapoppydesigns2.blogspot.com/
http://myblogmakeover.blogspot.com/
http://www.backgroundfairy.com/
http://slsfreeblogbackgrounds.blogspot.com/

So I Followed these simple steps for installing new background.

STEP 1

Choose DESIGN option from your dashboard

STEP 2
Select EDIT HTML

STEP 3
& then select SELECT LAYOUT TEMPLATE

STEP 4
Choose MINIMA

STEP 5
SAVE TEMPLATE and go to PAGE ELEMENTS from DESIGN options

STEP 6
Now ADD A GADGET

STEP 7
Add HTML

STEP 8
Add code of the background you selected. Save and done.

It is simple isnt it?

Deciding background took me alot of time (I am toooo indecisive, i know) but uploading hardly took 5 to 10 minnutes.

In next post ill show you how I designed my blog buttons.

Let me know if you have anything in mind...

How to - - - Remove ANNOYING blogspot Navbar

I really don’t understand the reason of that Navbar on the top of your blog.... I have never used it…

Really I want to know, what is the right way of using it, educate me if you use it…. I will love to know

You have two options with Navbar....
1. you can move it to bottom... (which doesn’t sound like a kool idea to me…)
2. Secondly to disable it.

My post is about disabling it... as I wanted to get rid of it...

OK lets start....

Step 1

Dashboard -> Design -> Edit TML

Step 2

Search (Ctrl+F) and find following code in HTML code.

]]></b:skin>

Step 3

Now add following code "above" ]]></b:skin>
#navbar-iframe { height:0px; visibility:hidden; display:none; }
It will look like this
#navbar-iframe { height:0px; visibility:hidden; display:none; }
]]></b:skin>

Save & DONE!

How to - - - Increase Traffic to your blog by adding “Alt” to your pictures

There are a lot of long I mean really long articles on how to increase traffic to your blog, this and that… and yes they are helpful but bit difficult to understand & implement for a non-techie person (like me :)

8increase_blog_traffic

There is one little simple trick which is not very techie and it really works…. after implementing this I saw a HUGE difference in traffic to my blog…

OK! No more exaggeration I am talking about adding “alt” tag to your pictures…

What is “alt” tag? It is simply adding description code of your picture (you upload on your blog) in HTML….

How it can improve traffic? Ok, ill explain with an example, I have this Monster Hook post on my blog, with a lot of pictures and I have named these pictures like 1.jpg or hook.jpg or may be 101239.jpg

Increase-blog-traffic, simple method to increase blog traffic, by adding alt tags to pictures

And some one search Google images for “diy kids craft” or “kids monster wall hook” will not see my pictures….. As Google bots are looking for diy kids craft/kids monster wall hook and not 1.jpg or hook.jpg or 101239.jpg

Make sense?

Adding “alt” tag to pictures… Ok so now, lets talk about how to do that…. there are 2 ways
1. If you are using windows Live writer then, once you add picture, you get the formatting option and there you can see “Add alt” option. add relevant info… SIMPLE!

Increase-blog-traffic, simple method to increase blog traffic, by adding alt tags to pictures

2. In other case if you are using blogger for posting, then you need to add tag in HTML manually….

once the picture is uploaded in your blog post, go to HTML.

del1

Now search <img

del2

Just after <img add space then alt=“your tag” and single space
for example, for this picture I will add…

11

img alt="monster hook, kids fun, kids diy, kids craft, kids wall hanging" border="0"

del3

This way your pictures will be visible in all relevant Google searches….
Please let me know if I can help you with anything…
Happy Blogging,
