Last minute favour boxes...

Yesterday while cleaning my craft area i got these little square favour boxes i made for my frd's son's birthday. She asked me a day before the function to make favours for the party. This is a simple and elegant favour box. And the kool part is that you can decorate it in innumberable ways.

my finished box full of candies

While I was still in the middle.

Now comes the tutorial...

1. Start with a square piece of paper. Fold the paper in half horizontally and then verically, so the creases look like this.
2. Fold the four corners of the paper toward the center point

3. Fold the top and bottom of this square into the center and open out again to create these creases.
4. Open out the top and bottom triangular flaps.
5. Fold the sides of the model into the centre, creasing well.

6. Fold down top corner of model and then open out again.
7. Fold down model in the other direction
You should now have 2 new diagonal creases like this.

8. Repeat step 6 & 7 at the other end of the model, so you have the new creases at both ends.
9. At one end of the model,Open out model along the creases you just made. This will raise the top portion of the model vertically.

10. Fold top of model over into the box. Its taking shape!
11. Repeat Step 9 and 10 at the other end of the box... and its finished!
To make a lid, just make another box, but start with a slightly bigger piece of paper.
 And it is done.

Regards.
bye.

(Part : 2) My Big One's 5th birthday preparationz... Give awayz (cake favour boxes)

hay all....
today i completed favour boxes and tomorrow hopefully ill make flowers for their decoration...
as per my last post here is the tutorial for making cake favour boxes. its just how to make cake favour boxes & their template... u can decorate it in any way u want...

I used 3 sheets of paper which were enough to make 27 boxes...

this is the template i used.

First of all i drew this template repetedly on my sheet,

Then after drawing I cut all the pieces neatly.

Then with an empty ball pen lines draw deep lines as shown
(I used colored pen to show where to mark lines)

and fold on the lines, drawing lines will help folding neatly.

with cutter cut the center of the template, the way shown in the pic.

Apply glue to these 2 sides.
now paste, press well from the inside with the help of any pen.
(u can use both hands, hehehe i used one as i was holding camera in other hand )

Insert this extra paper in the cut to close the box.
your cake favour box is ready for decoration.

WHILE I WAS BUSY WITH THIS..... this was happening on the other side...

gud day...
bye.

Everyone's problem --- small Cockroachzzzzz --- yucky hate them....

The day I started blogging I decided no matter how busy i am, ill make something new every week and vil upload on my blog. But this week was horrible for me. After coming back from my home country, there were so manyyyy cockroachz :( YUCKYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY HATE THEMMMMMMMM....

i got the gel treatment done and was expecting that they will finish.... YES! they reduced but didnt vanish.... so I was soooooooooooo eager to wipe them off completely....   COMPLETELYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Finally my mother-in-law (my life saver) she gave me this remedy and it reallllllllllllllly worked soooooooooooo well..... I luv her :)

Boric Powder  - 300 gms
egg                  - 1
Sugar               - 1 tea spoon
flour                 -  150 gms
Onion Grinded - 1 medium size

Mix all these ingredients with required amount of milk to make dough. After cleaning your kitchen andwashroom properly put small balls of this dough in corners.

DIY - - - Wall Sticker

This time its about my living room wall....

Wall Sticker

we moved in this new appartment almost 8 months back. during these 8 months the walls paint started chipping and thanks to my son who is always waiting for a chance to write on walls.... so they were looking really horrible....

Before Wall Sticker

in this pic I have removed many of his drawingz but still its looking awful because of chipped paint :(

SO, i gave a quick treatment to my wall... I bought black laminating sheet from nearest book store and cut out this skyline of canada.... (its still bit dirty :( but its muchhhhhhhh better den before)

AFTER

The fun a kool part is that this sheet comes with scale on the back sheet so its very easy to draw and cut straight sky line from laminating sheet.

its fun, easy and takes not more then 1 hour.... enjoy :)
